5 October 2020: Teachers facing the Digital Divide
As part of a series of events on the use of digital tools to address the SDGs, NORRAG is supporting the first of a series of online workshops with the Graduate Institute’s hub on digital governance in partnership with UNESCO and Microsoft. This online workshop “Teachers facing the Digital Divide” will take place on 5 October (15:00-16:00 CET).
The use of digital technologies for learning has generated interest for a number of years. Lightweight and portable digital devices are considered to liberate learning from being restricted to fixed and predetermined locations, fundamentally changing the ways that knowledge circulates within societies.
In the context of the COVID-19 crisis, interest in mobile learning technologies has grown exponentially. However, the situation is often confused. More and more technology is used in teachers’ pedagogical work with students, but “digital divides” shows how important internet access and device connectivity have become.
