5th KIX Global Symposium: Promoting a Culture of Evidence-Use in Policymaking – Challenges and Opportunities

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) are pleased to invite you to the 5th Annual Global Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (GPE KIX) Symposium.
The symposium will explore different perspectives on evidence use in policymaking drawing on firsthand insights from government officials, civil society organizations, researchers, policy stakeholders, and global knowledge initiatives. It will also showcase KIX results in select thematic areas that offer further insights on evidence use in policymaking.
Day One will feature moderated high-level panel discussions on the challenges and opportunities for using evidence in policymaking, focused on national evidence ecosystems and partnerships, and trust and reciprocity between researchers and policymakers. Day Two will offer parallel sessions anchored in thematic work supported by KIX, featuring headlines of synthetic analyses of KIX research, insights from KIX research grantees and end users, updates from KIX regional Hubs, and reflections from GPE Thematic Leads. Themes covered include: Out-of-School Children and Youth, Data Systems and Data Use, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, and Teacher Professional Development.
