9 April 2019, New York, USA: Investing in Education in Africa: Diverse Perspectives on Innovative Financing

The George Clement Bond Center for African Education, in collaboration with NORRAG, organised on 9 April 2019 at Teachers College, Columbia University, a panel discussion on “Investing in Education in Africa: Diverse Perspectives on Innovative Financing.” The event was co-sponsored by Teachers College Vice President’s Diversity and Community Initiatives Grant Fund, Tri-State Area Africa Funders and the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise, Columbia Business School.

This panel explored different innovative financing mechanisms and their impact on education and development in Africa. Keynote speaker Dr. Aleesha Taylor, Founder and Principal, Herald Advisors discussed the topic from a funder’s perspective through her work at the Open Society Foundations. Panelists shared insights based on their own diverse experiences working in philanthropy and development in Africa.
