2, 3 and 4 February: XVII Congreso Nacional de Educación Comparada

On 2, 3 and 4 February 2022, the Department of Theories of Education and Social Pedagogy of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Department of Theory and History of Education of the University of Barcelona (UB) will host the XVII Congress of the Spanish Society of Comparative Education. NORRAG Director, Gita Steiner-Khamsi, will give a presentation on 4 February from 12:30 – 13:30 CET on “Bridging the research-policy divide in an era of data surplus and reform fatigue” with discussant Antoni Verger. This scientific meeting, backed by the success of previous editions, aims to update and consolidate a space for debate on Comparative Education in Spain and internationally. For this, it welcomes works that allow to provide answers to the question posed by the Congress: Where is education going? Contributions from comparative education
More than a rhetorical question, the current context forces us to rethink the path or paths that education is taking and what the comparative and international perspective can contribute to this question.
This congress is aimed both at researchers and doctoral and master’s students, as well as professionals in education and educational administrations.
Los días 2, 3 y 4 de febrero de 2022, el Departamento de Teorías de la Educación y Pedagogía Social de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) y el Departamento de Teoría e Historia de la Educación de la Universidad de Barcelona (UB) acogerán el XVII Congreso de la Sociedad Española de Educación Comparada. La directora de NORRAG, Gita Steiner-Khamsi, ofrecerá una presentación el 4 de febrero de 12:30 a 13:30 CET sobre «Bridging the research-policy divide in an era of data surplus and reform fatigue», con la réplica de Antoni Verger, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Este encuentro científico, avalado por el éxito de ediciones anteriores, pretende actualizar y consolidar un espacio de debate sobre la Educación Comparada en España y a nivel internacional. Para ello, acoge trabajos que permitan dar respuesta a la pregunta planteada por el Congreso: ¿Hacia dónde va la educación? Aportaciones desde la educación comparada
Más que una pregunta retórica, el contexto actual nos obliga a repensar el camino o caminos que está tomando la educación y lo que la perspectiva comparada e internacional puede aportar a esta cuestión.
Este congreso está dirigido tanto a investigadores como a estudiantes de doctorado y de máster, así como a profesionales de la educación y de las administraciones educativas.
