KIX Research Update - Data Must Speak report on school performance in Nepal
Nepal has seen improvements with education access, participation and retention in recent years. However, learning outcomes remain stagnant. So, how can we harness the power of existing administrative datasets to improve learning? A new report from the Data Must Speak (DMS) Positive Deviance Research, a KIX research project led by the UNICEF Office of Research – Innocenti, presents analysis on the resources and contextual factors associated with school performance in Nepal, ranging from a teacher’s gender to the presence of children’s clubs at the school. This analysis is the first phase of a longer-term initiative in partnership between UNICEF Innocenti, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, UNICEF Nepal, and other partners that aims to identify and scale promising school-level practices throughout the country.
