DHIS2 for Education Conference and Academy 2024

The University of Oslo, a KIX research grantee, HISP Sri Lanka and the KIX EMAP Hub invite you to attend the DHIS2 for Education Conference and Academy 2024, to learn about how District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2) can be used to support education data management and data use for sector planning, monitoring, and resource allocation.

This event will include a two-day conference and three days of hands-on practical sessions on DHIS2 for Education. The KIX EMAP Hub will support free online streaming during the two-day conference, 6 and 7 May.

Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) poses the need for significant increase in the use of data to guide system level improvement of educational outcomes. Proper management, analysis and use of educational data is critical for improving learning outcomes and monitoring progress towards attainment of lifelong learning for all.

For close to 30 years, DHIS2, an open-source data management platform, has contributed to improving availability and use of health data in over 80 low, middle income countries. With its flexibility, comprehensive tools and functionalities, DHIS2 offers an opportunity for education managers and policy makers to leverage its use to improve education data management, track and monitor learner progress, identify areas for improvement, and ultimately, drive positive change in the education sector.

The event will allow stakeholders to discover ways to visualize and disseminate national, district and school level education data, and learn how ministries are locally customizing EMIS tools that fit their needs while building in-country capacity to mold and scale EMIS tools and procedures over time.
