Invitation to the launch of Save the Children's 2024 report "Stop the War on Children: Pathways to Peace" - 20 November 2024 at 3 PM

Save the Children’s report Stop the War on Children: Pathways to Peace. will be launched at an event on 20 November 2024 at 3pm. “Stop the War on Children” is Save the Children’s annual report on children and armed conflict. The report estimates that the lives of 473 million children are directly impacted by armed conflict today.

The launch of the report will be the opportunity to discuss with distinguished speakers and panelists how we can better protect children in conflict.

When: Wednesday 20 November 2024 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM

Stop the War on Children: Pathways to Peace highlights critical and emerging trends affecting the safety, the protection and the wellbeing of children in conflict zones. Over the past three decades, there has been a sharp rise in the number of children living amidst war and a disturbing increase in severe violations against them.

With this event – organised on World Children’s Day -, we seek to galvanize support for urgent action to end what has become, all too often in many conflicts, a war on children.

The event will include a presentation of the report’s findings and a panel discussion with speakers from UNICEF, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Interpeace and Save the Children Norway. Opening and closing remarks will be delivered by the Permanent Representative of Uruguay, as Co-Chair of the Group of Friends on Children and Armed Conflict in Geneva, and by the Permanent Representative of Norway.

This will be a valuable opportunity to engage with experts on strengthening protection for children in conflict zones and advancing investments in conflict prevention and peacebuilding initiatives.

The event will be followed by a reception.
