Call for applications: CIES International Travel Award (ITA) for Distinguished Service in Educational Reform
CIES 2023 submitters with distinguished service to the field – particularly those working in educational reform – are invited to apply for the CIES International Travel Award (ITA) for Distinguished Service in Educational Reform. This award was established in 2009 under the presidency of Prof Gita Steiner-Khamsi.
This award is available to support some travel costs to CIES 2023 for anyone residing outside the United States, with preference given to those from or working in low- and middle-income countries.
Applicants must have submitted a proposal through the conference proposal submission system and must have an active 2022 CIES membership. Please note the ITA application will be considered pending until the member’s CIES 2023 conference proposal has been accepted.
The deadline for applications is October 31, 2022.
To complete the application for the ITA Award, submitters will need to upload three files (.docx or PDF) via the application form linked below. The three required documents should be created before you begin the application, as you will not be able to save the information and return to it later.
The required materials are:
- A 500-word personal statement of your service in educational reform
- A copy of your conference proposal abstract, only (not the full paper or presentation); and
- Your resume or curriculum vitae
