Grading Goal Four - Chapters by Alexandra Draxler and Iveta Silova

Alexandra Draxler (Senior Advisor at NORRAG) and Iveta Silova (Professor and Director of the Center for the Advanced Studies in Global Education at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University and member of NORRAG) have contributed chapters to Grading Goal Four: Tensions, Threats and Opportunities in the Sustainable Development Goal on Quality Education, edited by Antonia Wulff.

Authors in this volume focus on different aspects of the broad education agenda, sharing the value of advancing critical perspectives and rights-based approaches as part of the global conversations about SDG 4 and its implementation. The chapters engage critically with SDG 4, examining its strengths and weaknesses, scrutinising the forces behind it and the challenges, tensions and power dynamics shaping its implementation. With a decade left until 2030, this book aims to inform, scrutinise, and create a sense of urgency. It encourages readers to contribute to ongoing deliberations and discussions, voice critical concerns, and to think how best to advance rights-based perspectives. These inputs are integral to building capacity for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the education goal.
