Helwan University Scientific Conference on “The Future of Teacher Education in the Light of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolution”
The Faculty of Education of Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt, held its third international scientific conference on 12 and 13 October 2022 under the title: “The Future of Teacher Education in the Light of the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolution”. The conference comprised thematic sessions and workshops for researchers and teaching staff. It focused on the challenges and prospects that the fourth and fifth industrial revolutions have been imposing on teacher policy and education capacity development models. More than 20 international and regional speakers contributed to the conference sessions, with more than 600 participants from 18 countries.
The KIX EAP Hub Manager, José Luis Canêlhas, was invited to participate as a speaker in a session coordinated by Professor Rasha Sharaf, KIX-EAP Hub Knowledge Lead, on the topic of “The Knowledge and Innovation Exchange in the EAP region: Approach, Activities, and Contribution to Education Systems”. Dr Aminath Shafiya Adam, Associate Professor at the National Maldives University and member of the KIX EAP Maldives National Steering Committee, also participated in the same session with a presentation on “Teacher Professional Development (TPD) in the Maldives: Experience, Model, and Future perspectives”.
