The UCD School of Education is seeking to appoint two Ad Astra Assistant Professors, one with expertise in AI-Driven Educational Innovation and another in Children’s Digital Futures. This role invites early career academics who can significantly advance the development of these critical areas within the school and broader university through both research and teaching excellence.
The Lecturer/Assistant Professor in AI-Driven Educational Innovation position represents a transformative opportunity to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, immersive technologies and education, contributing to UCD’s mission of fostering secure, inclusive, and future-oriented learning environments. The role aligns with UCD’s Breaking Boundaries strategy, emphasising Transforming Learning, Learning for Life and Research with Ambition. The appointed Fellow will also collaborate closely with the UCD Centre for Cyber Resilience Education, amplifying the impact of their work across multiple domains.
The Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Children’s Digital Futures position will contribute to advancing UCD’s leadership in understanding how digital technologies will shape the lives, opportunities, challenges, and societal roles of children as they grow up in increasingly interconnected, digitised environments. The position is closely aligned with the School’s leading role as a centre of excellence in research, policy and practice with children and young people, with international reach.
