NORRAG to coach a young activist in Young Activists Summit 2020
NORRAG’s Executive Director, Dr. Moira Faul, will be coaching a young activist named Mohamad Al Jounde as a side activity to the Young Activists Summit which takes place on 20 November 2020. Mohammad is a 19-year-old from Syria who founded a school in his refugee camp in Lebanon and has great interest in education. He now lives in Sweden, yet he is still running programmes for the Gharsah School. Although Mohamad is heavily involved in his work, he is encountering new challenges in providing education, and he is seeking guidance from NORRAG.
The Young Activists Summit takes place on 20 November 2020 (World Children’s Day). It will be held online under the theme ‘The world we want, time for change’ and will shine a spotlight on Mohamad and six other young activists who are advancing climate action, biodiversity, human rights, sustainable & ethical fashion issues.
At a critical time for our planet and humanity, #YAS20 will bring together young people, students and classes from around the world to discuss some of the world’s biggest challenges. The event is co-hosted by dev.tv, the Graduate Institute, Geneva (IHEID), the United Nations Office at Geneva, and Radio Télévision Suisse.
