One-day public workshop in Burkina Faso

In the context of the collaborative program between NORRAG and the Atelier de Recherche sur l’Education au Burkina Faso (AREB) initiated one year ago, a public workshop took place on 16 May 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina faso. This meeting was the occasion to present activities conducted between AREB, the French Agency for Development (AFD) and the Centre Population et Développement (Ceped), a joint research unit of the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) and University Paris Descartes.

The agenda included presentations and discussions on the following activities:

  • Launch of AREB & NORRAG Policy Brief #1 “La recherche face au besoin de connaissances en matière d’éducation. Propos réflexifs autour d’un parcours de recherche en Afrique francophone” by Marc Pilon, with comments by Eric Lanoue (also available in English) and Policy Brief #2 “La place de l’évaluation des apprentissages dans les systèmes éducatifs d’Afrique subsaharienne: le cas du Burkina Faso” by Amado Kaboré, NORRAG Research Assistant based in Ouagadougou
  • Presentation of NORRAG review of Burkina Faso-based bilateral and multilateral development agencies policies and programs in education and training, with a special emphasis on Technical and Vocational Skills Development (TVSD). This inventory will be published as a Policy Brief in autumn 2017
  • Launch of the new AREB website (with AFD)
  • Launch of the research projects and knowledge producers data base on education and training in Burkina Faso (with Ceped and AFD).

Participation to this workshop is public: it is open to all NORRAG members and non-members.
