What we know and how we address the challenges
#ValueTeachers
Date: Tuesday October 1st, 2024
Time: 2.00pm – 3.00pm CET
Location: Online
Co-organised by NORRAG and the EiE Hub, this interactive 60 minute open discussion marks World Teachers Day 2024. The event took UNESCO’s Global Report on Teachers as a scene setter, acknowledging the compounding effect of teacher shortages on children, youth, and adolescents amidst increasing conflict, forced displacement, and climate related risks.
Three guests, based on their organisation’s research and programming, were invited to respond to the opening prompt: Are teachers valued in emergency settings? What we know and how we address the challenges. Following initial remarks, members were invited to participate in the discussion that explores the politics, policies, and practices that define teachers’ work and education outcomes in emergency settings.
